Bigfoot, Orca and the trombone is one of the new Emodi coming to iOS 26

The Emoji Day, a consortium, which decides on New Emojis, has revealed a selection that will be formally announced in September, and then comes to the facility starting at some point in iOS 26.

The Unicode consortium considers 4 emotions each year and these boards pass through different phases than they will be ratified in September. This year, the IP consortium presented some future emoders, but also took another step of conflict that all of them would be included in its next official version of the standard.

It is common for more than the new new Emodji to be added at the end of each year’s negotiations, and that is what is true for 2025 by 2026. However, Unicode consortium has only announced only eight:

  • Apple core
  • Dance ballet
  • Bigfoot
  • Bias
  • Fight Cloud
  • Orca
  • Treasure chest
  • Trombone

The consortium says that these “new emotions have long -term symbolic meanings, are visually prominent and contain crowds of expression.” Formal edition of an updated standard containing these emodas is expected to be 9 September 2025.

Apple and Google then accept a new standard. For example, in March 2025 Apple added iOS 18.4 support for emoji approved by consortium in 2024.
